The Lydden Valley Research Group was formed in 2004 to study and promote research into the low-lying coastal area situated between Deal and Sandwich Bay in Kent.
The Group consists of geologists, ecologists, archaeologists and local historians.
September 2006 marked the publication of the Group's first report 'The Geology, Archaeology & History of Lydden Valley & Sandwich Bay'.
The group is currently expanding their plans for raising awareness of the Lydden Valley, its heritage, land-use and rich cultural and natural history.
They are being supported in this by the NEK initiative and will be one of the pilot groups for implementing the area-based plans which form an important part of the programme.
