Natural East Kent (NEK) is a long term initiative to support the sustainable regeneration of rural and coastal East Kent communities through the area's unique natural environment and heritage that promotes the natural environment and heritage with the aim of making a meaningful contribution to long-term sustainable economic regeneration.
A key objective of this collective endeavour is to improve our overall quality of life and it has been endorsed by a range of stakeholders.
Natural East Kent's Vision is that:
'By 2025 East Kent will be an internationally recognised visitor destination for wetlands, coastal, downlands and woodland wildlife. It will be a model of sustainable land use and rural regeneration, acting as a magnet for both specialist and recreational visitors, who love its hospitality, its walking and cycling trails, and wealth of history, traditions, culture and natural assets. East Kent residents will be justifiably proud of their place and won't want to live anywhere else.'
